  The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is the  Government of C
 anada's health research investment agency. CIHR takes a  solutions-based a
 nd multidisciplinary approach to the health challenges  facing Canadians. 
  This approach encompasses research in four areas:  biomedical, clinical\
 , health systems and services, and population and public  health. This se
 ssion will provide an introduction to CIHR, highlight CIHR  funding oppor
 tunities that are available for social sciences and humanities  researcher
 s, and discuss the Reforms of CIHR’s Open Programs and peer  review. Pres
