We experience the world and ourselves as fragmented beings whose fragments coalesce to form our being--as Nietzsche suggests, we are "polyps". In this keynote talk, Christine Daigle shows how the trans-objective aspects of our "polyp-being" contribute to self-constitution and considers how materiality constitutes subjectivity without depriving us of agency, thereby suggesting an account of human flourishing
